Concierge Services Service – This one simple word describes the main theme of the St. Jude Executive Retreat. The St. Jude Retreat Houses have served the public for over 17 years, with our research going back over two decades, and we know what is important to our guests. In light of this, we have a personalized trained staff that understands that our guests may have special needs. While a guest stays at the retreat house they may need to see a psychiatrist, make a dentist appointment, go shopping, etc. Our staff knows that these things can be very distracting to the needed peace and concentration needed to get the full benefits of the Jude Thaddeus Program. The St. Jude Retreat Training Program spends years building a competent staff team that can make sure the guest’s details are taken care of. When conventional treatment centers try to control the patients by imposing ridiculous restrictive probation periods on their guests, the St. Jude Retreats allow the guests to make their own decisions and have contact with their families. The staff knows that life is difficult enough, and that to create an adversarial relationship with the guest is not only counterproductive, but just rude and potentially dangerous to a guest that is in desperate need of help. We have learned through many years of helping substance abusers that the service oriented “little things” we provide for our guests grow to make a productive educational experience. Not control – Sensible, Safe Care Our goal is to make sure you learn life saving and life changing information that makes sense. If our guests are concentrating on a rules list that is miles long, then they can become distracted and resentful and may miss the entire reason for going to a retreat to begin with. This is why the St. Jude Retreats do not have a control method as part of our paradigm. However, the safety of our guests is paramount, hence the reason we have more staff members than guests. All our staff are available 24 hours a day. For example, if the Program Director has a day off and the guest would like to talk with them, they can be contacted on their personal cell phone or home phone by the guest at any hour. If the parent of a loved one who is attending the Jude Thaddeus Program wants to talk with the staff, we always make the time to do so. Unlike other facilities where the guest is treated as a broken, diseased patient, the Jude Thaddeus Program immediately assumes the opposite. Each person is treated as if they can and will learn maturity, happiness and success. With this starting point, the guest has the best foundation possible.
